3 TIPS ON HOW TO GET COLLABORATIONS FOR YOUR PODCAST

One of the best ways to grow your podcast is through collaborations. Whether it’s being a guest on someone else’s podcast or reaching out to other people to feature on yours. This is a great way to bring in new listeners and spread the word!

Putting yourself out there can seem daunting at first, but showing collaborators that you’re serious about what you do and want to build genuine connections, will help you stand out from the rest. Being your own hype man will get you far!

Here are 3 of our top tips on how to start getting collaborations.

1 - REACH OUT TO OTHERS

No matter how big or small your podcast may be, you are doing yourself a disservice by staying in your comfort zone. There is power in numbers, so why not start reaching out to fellow podcasters, influencers, Instagram pages, or independent businesses to collaborate with? This way, you’re not only engaging your listeners more, but you are also opening yourself up to a whole new audience. Coming up with a solid pitch will help you to organise and structure how you reach out to them. Express that you’re genuinely interested in collaborating, and start pitching those ideas!

2 - RECORD YOUR PODCAST AT A PROFESSIONAL PODCAST STUDIO

One of the key ways to show off your podcast when reaching out to others is by producing quality content. If you’re reaching out to creators with a bigger platform, they would be more likely to agree to a collab if they see the professionalism and quality of your work. This would show through your audio, video if you add visuals to your podcast, lighting and setting. Having all these things on lock will show them that you’re serious about levelling up. Recording with a podcast studio gives you the ease and access to all of these features to make your recording life much easier, as well as producing great content!

3 - PROMOTE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

So you’ve just finished recording another sick episode. Now go and share that everywhere! Instagram, TikTok, Twitter… Utilise these channels to draw in new listeners and show people what your podcast is all about. Don’t forget to use relevant hashtags in your post, and a clear Call to Action at the end of your podcast to direct people back to your social media channels. By engaging on your social media pages, collaborators can see that you’re active and stay up to date with the latest episodes. This is also the place to network with other people and reach out to them if you want to go down the more casual route.

Securing those collaborations can be so rewarding. There’s a whole community for you to explore and engage with to create some real authentic content. The more you grow, the bigger the collabs can be, which in turn, can lead you to start getting paid for doing what you love! All it takes it sending that first message, then the rest will follow. You got this!
